The Glenmorangie Distillery, founded in 1843 in the Scottish Highlands near Tain, is famous for its exquisite single malt Scotch whiskies. These are distilled in Scotland’s tallest stills, resulting in a particularly refined and smooth spirit. Glenmorangie is renowned for its innovative cask-finishing technique, which involves maturing whiskies in various types of casks, such as port, sherry and wine casks, lending them a unique depth of flavour.

Glenmorangie is also strongly committed to sustainability, with initiatives to reduce CO₂ emissions and reuse water, making the distillery a pioneer not only in the whisky industry but also in global spirits production. The Glenmorangie Calvados Cask Finish is an innovation from the Glenmorangie Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery, marking the distillery’s first release to be matured in French Calvados casks. This edition is the fifth in the Barrel Select Release series and has been matured for a total of 12 years. The whisky is characterised by aromas of jasmine blossoms, baked apples, pears and the typical fruity notes of Glenmorangie, complemented by a gentle depth.

For the Calvados Cask Finish, Dr Lumsden selected a whisky that was first matured for over 10 years in American white oak bourbon casks, before being finished in Calvados casks from the Pays d’Auge, in which Calvados had previously been stored for 20 years. Following a two-year secondary maturation in these casks, the Glenmorangie Calvados Cask Finish was created.

Nose: Baked apples, pears, vanilla, almonds, floral notes, pastries.

Palate: Oily, spicy, sweet, pears, candied apples, marzipan, star anise, lemon balm, eucalyptus.
