The Jack Daniel's Sour Mash Tennessee Whiskey Legacy Edition No. 1 – Green Design is a special edition of the world-famous Tennessee whiskey from Lynchburg, Tennessee. The design of this bottling is based on a historic Jack Daniel's label from before 1904, thus evoking a period in the brand’s early history. The striking green label with gold and red details clearly distinguishes the Legacy Edition from the familiar black design of Jack Daniel's Old No. 7. Inside is classic Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey, made from a grain blend comprising 80 per cent maize, 8 per cent rye and 12 per cent malted barley. Before being placed in casks, the new make is slowly filtered through a thick layer of house-made sugar maple charcoal using the characteristic Lincoln County Process.

The Jack Daniel's Legacy Edition No. 1 is then matured in new, charred American white oak casks, with the master distillers deciding on the optimal maturation point; no fixed age statement is used. The Jack Daniel’s Distillery was officially registered in 1866 and is one of the best-known American whisky producers. With an alcohol content of 43 per cent, this Legacy Edition is stronger than the 40 per cent bottling of Old No. 7 commonly found in many European markets. The Jack Daniel's Green Design 0.7 l thus combines the brand’s classic sour mash and Tennessee whisky style with a historic label design. This edition is an interesting addition, particularly for Jack Daniel's collectors, lovers of American whiskies and fans of historic bottle designs.

Tasting Note

Colour: Warm amber.

Nose: Sweet vanilla and caramel with toasted oak, notes of grain and a subtle fruitiness.

Palate: Smooth and well-balanced with vanilla, caramel, toasted oak, sweet maize and a delicately spicy note.

Finish: Medium-length and pleasantly warming with vanilla, oak and a subtle sweet-spicy note.

Jack Daniel's Legacy Edition No. 1 can be served neat at room temperature or on the rocks, and is equally suited to classic whisky long drinks. It pairs particularly well with cola or ginger ale, whilst this Tennessee whisky is also ideal for cocktails such as a whisky sour or Lynchburg lemonade. Culinary pairings include BBQ dishes, grilled beef, burgers, smoked meats or desserts featuring caramel and vanilla.
