The Hannes Reeh Lieblich Rot 2022 10.5% is a fruit-forward red wine blend from Burgenland, made in equal parts from 50% Zweigelt and 50% Merlot. The wine forms part of the Hannes Reeh winery’s straightforward ‘Haus & Hof’ Linie and offers an accessible drinking experience with pronounced fruitiness. The grapes grow on gravelly soils with a sandy component and are carefully harvested by hand. With a must density of 21 °KMW, the vinification process is deliberately straightforward: both fermentation and the subsequent ageing take place entirely in stainless-steel tanks, ensuring that the fruity character of the two red grape varieties remains the focal point.


With 37.9 g/l of residual sugar, the Hannes Reeh Lieblich Rot 2022 is clearly a sweet wine, whilst an acidity of 5.1 g/l provides a balancing counterpoint. The blend of Zweigelt and Merlot offers a charming introduction to the world of red wines and reflects the uncomplicated style of Hannes Reeh’s Haus-&-Hof wines. In the glass, the Hannes Reeh Lieblich Rot 2022 displays a deep ruby red colour. On the nose, inviting, ripe fruit aromas take centre stage. On the palate, the cuvée is soft, full-bodied and juicy, with distinct fruit sweetness accompanied by a pleasant acidity. The finish is round, fruity and harmonious.
