The Kilchoman BATCH STRENGTH Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a powerful yet precisely crafted expression from the Kilchoman Distillery, which reflects the distillery’s intense house style in concentrated form. This expression was matured in a complex combination of re-charred red wine casks, Oloroso sherry butts and ex-bourbon barrels, allowing different maturation influences to be deliberately blended together. Once maturation was complete, a small amount of water was added to the whisky to deliberately set it at a batch strength of 57% vol. This preserves the distillate’s power whilst optimising its balance and drinkability. This Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky was bottled without chill filtration and without the addition of colouring.


The Kilchoman Batch Strength combines the distinctive Islay peaty smoke and Kilchoman’s characteristic citrus freshness with dark fruit, spice and a salty sweetness. The re-charred wine casks add extra depth and structure, whilst Oloroso sherry casks provide richness and the bourbon casks underpin the distillate’s clean Linie. This bottling is specifically aimed at connoisseurs of intense Islay whiskies who appreciate power, complexity and artisanal cask selection.
