Belizean Blue Silver, a 100% column-distilled rum, is made from Fairtrade-certified sugar cane molasses in Belize. This product is produced by Travellers Liquors Ltd., a family-run business based in Belize, and is marketed in sustainable packaging. The packaging, a Frugalpac bottle, is made from 94 per cent recycled cardboard and features a food-safe inner lining.
Travellers Liquors Ltd., like the entire sugar industry in Belize, is Fairtrade-certified. It actively pursues measures to reuse and recycle bottles and has installed a wastewater treatment plant at its distillery. The Frugal Bottle, the packaging for Belizean Blue Silver, is not only environmentally friendly thanks to its light weight and reduced carbon footprint, but also offers an innovative 360-degree branding opportunity that makes the product stand out on the shop shelf.
