Dos Maderas combines the rum-making traditions of Barbados and Guyana in the Caribbean with sherry ageing at the renowned Williams & Humbert bodega in Jerez, Spain. The bodega, founded in 1877 and now run by the Medina family, is the largest single-site bodega in Europe and houses over 60,000 oak casks. It is renowned for its Dry Sack sherry and Gran Duque D'Alba. In the 2000s, the family diversified its range and launched a special rum that reflects the bodega’s heritage and quality.

This blend, comprising 5-year-old rum from Guyana and 5-year-old rum from Barbados, is shipped to our bodega in Jerez, southern Spain, for further refinement following its initial ageing. There, the rum matures for a further year in carefully selected, old Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, which gives it a distinctive depth and complexity. This additional maturation, which infuses the rum with the aromas of the sherry, creates an unrivalled taste experience.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark amber.

Nose: Oak, spices, vanilla, honey, caramel, toasted nuts.

Palate: Caramel, vanilla, spices, toasted oak, raisins, sherry.

Finish: Long-lasting.

This rum is best enjoyed neat and at room temperature.
