This special bottling specifically highlights the influence of first-fill American oak Oloroso sherry casks (Quercus alba) and impressively demonstrates just how formative this type of cask can be for the aroma profile of a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky. As an unpeated single malt whisky, the focus here is on the combination of fruit, sweetness and subtle oak.


The journey of this sherry cask whisky begins in the oak forests of North America, where the wood for the casks is sourced. The casks are then prepared in Spain, in the so-called ‘Sherry Triangle’, over several years; they are air-dried, crafted by experienced coopers and pre-seasoned with Oloroso sherry. Only then are they used to mature the Tamdhu new make spirit, allowing an intense blend of wood, fruit and sherry notes to develop. Bottled at 48 per cent, without chill filtration and in its natural colour, this limited-release whisky impresses with its depth, structure and authenticity. It is delivered in a high-quality gift box that emphasises the special character of this bottling.
