MICHAEL Cabernet Blanc PIWI is a remarkable white wine that impressively demonstrates the innovative spirit and commitment to quality of the Weingut Michael Rosenberger. The Cabernet Blanc grape variety belongs to the PIWI group (fungus-resistant grape varieties), which, thanks to their natural resistance to fungal diseases, enable environmentally friendly viticulture. This enables the winery to significantly reduce its use of plant protection products and thus make an important contribution to sustainability.

This wine is made from 100% Cabernet Blanc grapes, which thrive on the mineral-rich soils of the Styrian Vulkanland. The grapes are carefully harvested by hand to ensure only the very best grapes are used. The wine is matured in stainless-steel tanks, which allows the fruity and varietal aromas of the Cabernet Blanc to come to the fore. The bottles are fitted with a screw cap, which preserves the wine’s freshness and aromas. The wine is ready to drink in 2–3 years, meaning it can be enjoyed young but is also allowed to mature a little further.

With an alcohol content of 12.5% ABV, the wine is light and refreshing without losing any of its depth.

Tasting Note

A pale straw-yellow colour with greenish highlights in the glass. On the nose, it reveals an intense bouquet of green pepper, gooseberry and citrus fruits, accompanied by subtle grassy notes. On the palate, the wine is fresh and lively, with well-integrated acidity and a delicate minerality that lends the wine structure. The finish is elegant and lingering, with a pleasant fruity aftertaste.

This Cabernet Blanc is excellent as an aperitif and pairs wonderfully with light starters, Asian cuisine or fresh salads. It is also an ideal accompaniment to fish dishes or goat’s cheese. Its fresh and aromatic character makes it the perfect wine for summer occasions or convivial evenings.
