Description
Description
Michter’s US*1 Original Small Batch Sour Mash Whiskey is produced by the oldest distillery in the United States. In the production of this whisky, a portion of the fermented mash is used as a starter for the newly fermented mash, which gives it its characteristic flavour. Due to the special selection of grains, this whisky falls into neither the rye nor the bourbon category, but occupies a unique position.
The whisky is matured in charred American white oak casks, which lend it additional depth and complexity. This special maturation in white oak casks allows rich aromas to develop, resulting in a deep, amber hue. Michter’s US*1 Original Small Batch Sour Mash Whiskey is therefore an exceptional product that combines both tradition and innovative production techniques, offering a distinctive flavour that delights whisky lovers.
Awards:
- Michter’s ranked 1st in Drinks International’s list of the 50 most prestigious whiskies from the USA in 2022
- Michter’s ranked 2nd in Drinks International’s global list in 2022
