The Frescobaldis are a prominent Florentine family who have been based in Tuscany for over 1,000 years and are dedicated to producing outstanding Tuscan wines. Their influence grew considerably during the era of the Florentine Republic, when the city’s banking sector flourished and the family was involved in many areas of life. They played a key role in the construction of major landmarks, including the Santa Trinita Bridge and the Basilica of Santo Spirito.

Frescobaldi, situated in the Montalcino region, south-west of the medieval town, produces some of the finest Italian wines. These wines are made from the Merlot and Sangiovese grape varieties. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, involving a 10-day fermentation followed by a 20-day maceration on the grape skins. The wines then undergo malolactic fermentation and are aged for 12 months in barriques to develop their unique character.

Tasting Note

An intense ruby red in the glass. On the nose, floral hints, fruity notes of raspberries and spicy undertones. On the palate, it is well-balanced, elegant and creamy, with fruity notes of raspberries and sweet spices. The finish is long-lasting, accompanied by spicy notes.
