The family-run business Roner, situated on the South Tyrolean Wine Route in Tramin, was founded in 1946 by Gottfried Roner, who began conducting his first distillation experiments. Today, the name Roner is synonymous with high-quality spirits, with a range that includes not only grappas and fruit spirits but also liqueurs – a fact underlined by numerous awards.

To produce the Caldiff apple brandy, Roner uses the aromatic and delicious Gravensteiner apple, which is carefully pressed, fermented and gently distilled in copper stills. Its distinctive flavour stems from the special production process, in which the distillate is aged for at least three years in barrique casks using the Solera method, which was originally used for ageing sherry or brandy.

As the casks are stacked on top of one another, partially emptied and then refilled in a rotating order, a blend of different ages is created. The result is a multi-faceted apple brandy that tastes of full, ripe and almost autumnal apples.
