Description
Carlos I Solera Gran Reserva AMONTILLADO Brandy de Jerez 40.3% ABV 0.7l online kaufen
The Carlos I Solera Gran Reserva AMONTILLADO Brandy de Jerez 40.3% vol. 0.7 l is an exceptional Spanish brandy speciality from Jerez, which impresses with its meticulous cask ageing and the use of sherry casks that are decades old. It is produced by the long-established Spanish company Osborne in El Puerto de Santa María in the province of Cádiz. What makes this Brandy de Jerez Solera Gran Reserva so special is its two-stage ageing process, lasting a total of five years. First, the distillate is aged for four years in former Amontillado and Oloroso sherry casks, which were previously used for more than 50 years to age these Spanish wines. The brandy is then aged for a further year in casks from the historic Solera La Honda, which are over a hundred years old. Bottled at 40.3% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle, the Carlos I Amontillado combines traditional Spanish brandy production with an exceptional cask history.
The Solera La Honda, founded as early as 1852, is one of the Osborne house’s most prized treasures and has been used for generations to age high-quality Amontillado sherries. The centuries-old casks lend the Carlos I Amontillado brandy its distinctive character and make it a unique interpretation of the classic Carlos I Solera Gran Reserva. The combination of ageing in Amontillado and Oloroso casks, followed by a final maturation in the historic La Honda casks, results in a complex Spanish brandy aged in sherry casks. This unique blend of over 170 years of Solera history, traditional cask ageing and Andalusian distilling expertise makes the Carlos I Amontillado an intriguing choice for brandy connoisseurs and lovers of exceptional cask-aged spirits.

Tasting Note
Colour: Bright amber with subtle greenish highlights.
Nose: Refined mahogany notes, delicate toasted aromas, roasted hazelnuts, walnuts and chestnuts, accompanied by mineral and slightly salty nuances.
Palate: Silky smooth and elegantly dry, with aromatic almonds, roasted hazelnuts, subtle oak spice and characteristic Amontillado sherry notes.
Finish: Long-lasting and harmonious, with elegant nuttiness, subtle mineral accents and a pleasantly dry, velvety texture.
The Carlos I Solera Gran Reserva Amontillado reveals its multi-layered character particularly well when enjoyed neat at room temperature or, as traditionally recommended by the producer, over three large ice cubes with a fresh orange zest. The orange zest can be gently pressed with a bar spoon to release its essential oils. As a culinary accompaniment, roasted almonds, hazelnuts or walnuts harmonise superbly with the characteristic Amontillado notes. Lemon tart, orange cake or dark chocolate with candied orange peel also complement its dry, nutty aroma. As an elegant digestif following a fine meal, this Spanish brandy is a special choice for lovers of matured sherry cask distillates.
