The St. Kilian Kiliani Edition IMMINA Single Malt Whisky is a special edition limited to just 975 bottles, which impressively demonstrates the skill and creativity of the renowned St. Kilian Distillery. Based in Rüdenau, the distillery produces premium whiskies of the highest quality for an international audience, drawing on an impressive selection of over 170 different cask types, which enable an extraordinary variety of flavours.

The Kiliani Edition is an exclusive series released every year on St Kilian’s name day, 8 July. The 2024 edition honours the Blessed Immina, Abbess of Würzburg and Karlburg, and pays tribute to the distillery’s Franconian homeland. The whisky was matured for over five years in ex-bourbon casks that had previously held the traditional ‘Brauerreserve 1237’ from the Faust family brewery in Miltenberg. This unique combination of beer and bourbon cask maturation lends the whisky a complex, deep aroma with fruity, malty and woody notes.

At 46% ABV, unadulterated – that is, without chill filtration or colouring – the whisky comes in an elegant gift box and is aimed at connoisseurs seeking something out of the ordinary – whether for pure enjoyment or as a special collector’s item showcasing the art of German whisky-making.

Tasting Note

Colour: Golden yellow with warm amber highlights.

Nose: Fruity and delicately malty, with notes of red berries, vanilla, toffee, subtle oak spice and a hint of hops.

Palate: Full-bodied, smooth and complex – with flavours of grain, dried fruit, caramel, delicate malt and spicy wood.

Finish: Long-lasting, warm and harmonious, with sweetish spice, gentle roasted notes and balanced depth.

The St. Kilian Kiliani Edition IMMINA reveals its full potential best when enjoyed neat at room temperature in a nosing glass. Culinary pairings: this single malt is an excellent accompaniment to smoked cheese, game terrines, fine chocolate desserts or even a hearty sourdough loaf with dark beer cheese.
