Description
Description
The Tamnavulin Distillery, founded in 1966 in the picturesque village of Tomnavoulin in Scotland, has had an eventful history. After the distillery closed its doors in 1995, it reopened in 2007 following an extensive refurbishment and has since been producing outstanding single malt whisky that embodies the authentic Speyside character. The name ‘Tamnavulin’ is derived from Gaelic and means ‘mill on the hill’, a tribute to the historic mill that once stood on the distillery’s grounds.
The Tamnavulin German Pinot Noir Red Wine Cask begins its maturation in American oak casks, which provide the whisky with a solid foundation. It is then given a special finish in ex-Pinot Noir casks from a renowned, though unnamed, winery in Germany. This unique combination lends the whisky a refined complexity and a subtle fruitiness that sets it apart from other bottlings.
