The Glenmorangie Distillery, founded in 1843 in the Scottish Highlands near Tain, is famous for its exquisite single malt Scotch whiskies. These are distilled in Scotland’s tallest stills, resulting in a particularly fine and mellow spirit. Glenmorangie is renowned for its innovative cask-finishing technique, which involves maturing whiskies in various types of casks, such as port, sherry and wine casks, giving them a unique depth of flavour.

Glenmorangie is also strongly committed to sustainability, with initiatives to reduce CO₂ emissions and promote water reuse, making the distillery a pioneer not only in the whisky industry but also in global spirits production. The distillery remains true to its tradition whilst continually striving to minimise its environmental footprint whilst maintaining the quality of its whiskies.

The darker side of this delicious single malt is revealed in the even rarer and more exquisite Glenmorangie Signet Reserve. For this special bottling, carefully selected Signet batches undergo an additional 12 months’ maturation in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. This finishing process deepens the complexity and richness of the whisky, which is released annually in strictly limited quantities.

Signet was originally created out of a desire to explore Glenmorangie’s richer flavour profile. Once a year, the distillery devotes itself exclusively to its production, resulting in an espresso-like spirit that matures in a variety of casks. This unique maturation process, complemented by some of the distillery’s oldest stocks, gives the whisky an impressive depth and complexity that has been delighting whisky enthusiasts since its launch in 2008.

Tasting Note

Colour: Amber.

Nose: Full-bodied, intense notes of espresso, chocolate, hazelnut cream, muscovado sugar and orange peel.

Palate: Full-bodied, toffee, caramel, chocolate truffles, Turkish coffee, hints of cinnamon, raisins, citrus fruits, ripe raspberries.

Finish: Long-lasting, complex, coffee, chocolate.
