On a picturesque farm, surrounded by lemon trees, with a majestic view of Mount Etna and the sparkling sea, she developed a special connection with the Sicilian fruit. The sounds of nature and the fresh aroma of the lemons shaped her memories, as did her mother’s homemade lemonade and the scent of lemon oil wafting from the kitchen. Back in Verona, little Licellino spent many happy hours hiding in baskets full of Sicilian lemons. Nonna Gisella’s passion for cooking with fresh lemons led to the creation of her famous limoncello.
