Since its foundation in 1793, its picturesque setting and proximity to the harbour in the west of the Scottish Highlands have made the Oban Distillery a magnet for new settlers. Oban, which means ‘little bay’ in Gaelic, has, despite initial challenges, developed into one of the most prestigious and efficient distilleries. With just two stills, Oban produces up to 700,000 litres of spirit annually, making it one of the smallest distilleries in the world – a testament to its excellence and tradition in whisky-making.

With the latest instalment of the Special Releases, ‘Spirited Xchange’, we are delighted to celebrate the newest bottlings in this special series, which is inspired by cultural influences from various countries and brings leading brands to life through unique partnerships with different cultures.

Oban 10 Years Old Coastal Orchard Single Malt was initially matured in refill American oak casks before undergoing a finishing process in freshly charred American oak casks that had previously been filled with Oloroso sherry. This limited edition is ideal as a collector’s item and makes an exceptional gift for lovers of exclusive whiskies.

Tasting Note

Colour: Amber.

Nose: Lively, maritime aromas of seaweed and the sea, oak, vanilla, herbal notes, sherry.

Palate: Creamy, ripe oranges and lemons, vanilla, peppery undertones, a hint of sea salt.

Finish: Medium-length, warm and spicy.
