The Edradour distillery, renowned for its characterful and intensely peated malts, has created the ‘Ballechin’ range, which appeals to lovers of smoky whiskies.
In 2024, to mark the Halloween celebrations, the renowned distillery presented a special single malt from this range, aptly named ‘Trick or Peat’. This whisky is 13 years old and, according to the distillery, was matured in selected bourbon casks from 2010 to 2024. Bottled at 46.6 per cent ABV, “Trick or Peat” is characterised by its natural colour, as no colouring has been added. Furthermore, chill filtration has been avoided to preserve the full aroma.
Limited to 666 bottles, this special edition is aimed specifically at collectors and connoisseurs.
Tasting Note
Colour: Gold.
Nose: Peat smoke, vanilla, caramel, malt, oak.
Palate: Sweet, malty, peat, vanilla, cinnamon, oak.
Finish: Long-lasting.
