The Loch Lomond Distillery was first established in 1814 on the northern shore of Loch Lomond, near Tarbet. However, the current distillery was built in 1965 by the former owners of the Littlemill Distillery, which is situated a few miles from Glasgow.

Since 2014, the distillery has been under the leadership of Master Blender Michael Henry, whose passion for distilling and brewing whisky is deeply rooted in his experience working alongside distilleries. With his expertise, he plays a key role in shaping the production and profile of Loch Lomond whiskies.

The Loch Lomond 12 Years Old Madeira Cask Whisky was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2024; it spent the majority of its maturation in refill bourbon casks before undergoing a 6- to 12-month finish in first-fill Madeira casks. This final maturation stage imparted additional complexity and depth. It is an unpeated whisky, produced without peat smoke. The release is limited to 205 bottles and is bottled at natural cask strength with an alcohol content of 55.3 % vol.

Tasting Note

Colour: Brilliant amber.

Nose: Candied oranges, red apples, cloves.

Palate: Golden syrup, baked apples, cinnamon, ripe cherries, oaky notes.

Finish: Long-lasting.
