The Knöbl Chardonnay is an expressive, elegant white wine from the long-established Weinhof Knöbl in the village of Dienersdorf near Kaindorf in Eastern Styria. This family-run business is managed with great passion and dedication by Fritz Knöbl, an experienced master winegrower with a solid education at the renowned Silberberg School of Viticulture. At the age of just 17, Fritz Knöbl took on responsibility for wine production, having earned the trust of his parents – the founders of the estate – at an early age. Today, his name is synonymous with the highest quality standards, sustainable viticulture and wines with authentic character.

Only carefully selected, fully ripe Chardonnay grapes are used for this Chardonnay, which thrive in the sun-drenched vineyards surrounding the estate. Following hand-picking, the grapes are gently processed to optimally preserve the fruit’s freshness and aromatics. The wine is bottled using a modern screw cap, which safely and reliably preserves its unique character.

The Knöbl Chardonnay 2020 epitomises the quality philosophy and tradition of Weinhof Knöbl and invites visitors to the estate’s own wine tavern to taste and discover further wines and juices right on the premises.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Knöbl Chardonnay appears a clear, pale straw yellow with slightly greenish highlights. Its fruity bouquet entices with appealing notes of ripe pears, yellow apples and fresh citrus fruits, accompanied by delicate floral nuances and a hint of exotic freshness. On the palate, it is elegant, fresh and harmoniously balanced, with pleasant acidity and a delicately creamy texture. The finish is harmonious, of medium length and accompanied by subtle mineral notes.

Knöbl Chardonnay pairs perfectly with light, regional cuisine such as fish dishes, roast poultry, salads or asparagus. It is equally well suited to refined vegetarian dishes, light starters and mild cheeses.
