The Douglas Laing Old Particular Girvan 16 Years Old 2008 is an exclusive single grain bottling from Douglas Laing’s renowned Old Particular range, which is characterised by exceptional single-cask bottlings. Produced at the Girvan Distillery, one of Scotland’s best-known grain distilleries, this whisky boasts a remarkable 16-year maturation and has been bottled at 48.4% ABV.

This single grain whisky was matured in a carefully selected refill hogshead cask, allowing it to develop a perfect balance of sweet, fruity and spicy notes. The long maturation lends it an elegant smoothness, whilst the natural grain notes and cask influences provide a harmonious depth and complexity.

Like all bottlings in the Old Particular range, this whisky has not been chill-filtered and is bottled without colouring agents to preserve its natural authenticity and full range of flavours.

Tasting Note

Colour: Pale gold with amber highlights.

Nose: Sweet vanilla, butter biscuit, ripe fruit and subtle caramel notes, accompanied by a hint of spice.

Palate: Smooth and velvety with notes of creamy toffee, honey, buttery shortbread and a subtle hint of oak.

Finish: Medium to long, sweet and harmonious with a pleasant grain note and gentle spicy nuances.

This 16-year-old single grain whisky reveals its flavours best when enjoyed neat or with a drop of water to emphasise its depth and complexity. It pairs superbly with dark chocolate, caramelised nuts, butter biscuits or a fine cigar. It also reveals its full elegance when enjoyed with a café crème or a dessert featuring vanilla and caramel.
