The Tamdhu 12 Years Old Speyside Single Malt Limited Release is a premium single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 43 per cent in a 0.7-litre bottle. The historic Tamdhu Distillery in Scotland’s Speyside region is renowned for its uncompromising commitment to maturation in Oloroso sherry casks. This bottling, too, is matured for 12 years exclusively in first-fill and refill Oloroso sherry casks made from American and European oak, sourced from Jerez in Spain. This consistent cask selection defines Tamdhu’s distinctive style and ensures exceptional depth and elegance. The whisky is bottled at its natural colour and remains true to the traditional Speyside recipe, which uses only a very small amount of peat. This results in just a barely perceptible hint of smoke in the finish, without overpowering the classic sherry cask character.

Tasting Note

Colour: Natural, warm mahogany.

Nose: Cinnamon buns, orange sweets, raisins, sweet oak and a hint of fresh mint.

Palate: Silky and full-bodied with banana, berry jam, malt biscuits, Oloroso sherry, vanilla and spicy oak.

Finish: Long-lasting with spices, dried fruit, Scottish tablet and a subtle hint of peat smoke.

The Tamdhu 12 Years Old is best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of still water to bring out the complex sherry flavours even more. On the palate, this Speyside single malt whisky pairs superbly with mature Cheddar, Comté, Serrano ham, duck breast, game dishes, raisin bread, nut cake, Christmas pudding, dark chocolate, chocolate truffles or dried figs and dates, whose fruity and spicy flavours perfectly complement the whisky’s elegant character.
