Chivas Regal XV 15 Years Old is a 15-year-old blended Scotch whisky that combines the traditional Chivas Regal style with a special French cask finishing process. All the Scotch whiskies used in the blend have been matured for at least 15 years before part of the blend is finished in Grande Champagne cognac casks. Grande Champagne is considered one of the most renowned crus in the French cognac region and lends the blend an additional fruity and elegant cask-derived character. At the heart of Chivas blends lies, traditionally, Strathisla Single Malt, whose distillery in Speyside is one of Scotland’s oldest still-operating distilleries. With an alcohol content of 40 per cent, Chivas XV combines its long maturation period with an accessible, smoothly balanced style and a distinct cognac cask character.

Chivas Regal XV 15 Years Blended Scotch Whisky was developed as a particularly elegant interpretation of the classic Chivas style. Crucially, not all of the whisky is matured exclusively in Cognac casks; instead, the blend is refined through a targeted ‘Selective Finish’ in Grande Champagne Cognac casks. This preserves the character of the Scottish blend, whilst the additional cask-maturation phase introduces fruity and sweet-spicy notes. Chivas Regal looks back on a history linked to the brothers James and John Chivas in the 19th century and is today synonymous with high-quality blended Scotch whiskies. The combination of a minimum age of 15 years, selected malt and grain whiskies, and a Cognac cask finish makes Chivas XV a distinctive expression within the Chivas Regal range.

Tasting Note

Colour: Warm amber with golden highlights.

Nose: Ripe red apples, orange marmalade and honey, accompanied by cinnamon and subtle fruity notes.

Palate: Smooth, velvety and fruity, with notes of pear, butterscotch and caramel, as well as vanilla and subtle spice.

Finish: Long-lasting, smooth and pleasantly sweet, with fruit, vanilla and subtle spicy notes.

Chivas Regal XV 15 Years Old is best enjoyed neat at around 18–20 °C, but can also be served over a large ice cube. In terms of food pairings, mature hard cheeses, roasted nuts or desserts featuring apple, pear and caramel complement its fruity, smooth character. For long drinks, a classic whisky highball with soda water is ideal, as the cognac cask finishing remains discernible. Thanks to its elegant style, Chivas XV is also well suited as a digestif, as well as for birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions.
