To celebrate the 450th anniversary of the Lucas Bols company, something very special was created to tie in with the rich distillery history. To mark the occasion, Bols 1575 Blue Curaçao Liqueur was created - a tribute to the tradition and craftsmanship that has characterised the brand for centuries.

Bols 1575 Blue is based on a historic recipe of distilled orange peel and is blended with a botanical spiced rum developed at the distillery in Amsterdam. This unique liqueur uses spices typical of the island of Curaçao, such as vanilla, grains of paradise and cardamom. These spices give the Bols a special warmth and tropical spice tones that add extra boldness and complexity to the rum body. The result is a full orange flavour, accompanied by cardamom notes, based on a rum body with vanilla and grains of paradise.

The bright blue colour makes it a real eye-catcher and makes for a spectacular presentation in any drink.

Tasting Note

Colour: Intense, bright blue.

Nose: Fresh, slightly bitter, slightly floral, fruity citrus notes, cardamom, vanilla notes.

Taste: Balanced sweet, slightly bitter, citrus flavours, creamy vanilla.

Finish: Langs, gentle, hint of citrus fruit.

Ideal for a variety of cocktails such as Blue Lagoon, Blue Margarita or Blue Hawaii. It can also be used in long drinks or as a colour highlight in fruity cocktails. On its own or on ice, it offers a refreshing, fruity change. In the kitchen, it can also be used to prepare fruity desserts or to flavour sorbet.
