To celebrate the 450th anniversary of Lucas Bols, something truly special has been created that builds on the distillery’s rich history. To mark this occasion, the Bols 1575 Blue Curaçao Liqueur was created – a tribute to the tradition and craftsmanship that have defined the brand for centuries.

Bols 1575 Blue is based on a historic recipe using distilled orange peel and is blended with a botanical spiced rum developed at the distillery in Amsterdam. This unique liqueur features spices typical of the island of Curaçao, such as vanilla, grains of paradise and cardamom. These spices lend the Bols a distinctive warmth and tropical spice notes, which add extra boldness and complexity to the rum base. The result is a full-bodied orange flavour, accompanied by notes of cardamom, set against a rum base infused with vanilla and grains of paradise.

Its vibrant blue colour makes it a real eye-catcher and ensures a spectacular presentation in any drink.

Tasting Note

Colour: Intense, bright blue.

Nose: Fresh, slightly bitter, slightly floral, fruity citrus notes, cardamom, hints of vanilla.

Palate: Well-balanced sweetness, slightly bitter, citrus flavours, creamy vanilla.

Finish: Long-lasting, smooth, with a hint of citrus.

Ideal for a wide variety of cocktails such as the Blue Lagoon, Blue Margarita or Blue Hawaii. It can also be used in long drinks or as a colourful accent in fruity cocktails.
