According to legend, the story of the famous Negroni began in 1919, when the charismatic Conte Camillo Negroni walked into the Café Casoni in Florence and asked the barman, Fosco Scarselli, to ‘spice up’ his Americano. Scarselli decided to replace the soda in the classic Americano with gin, creating a new, stronger drink.

From then on, the Count always ordered ‘the usual’, and soon other guests followed his lead by asking for the ‘Conte Negroni-style Americano’. This demand gave rise to the Negroni as we know it today: a cocktail made from bitters, vermouth and gin.

The Negroni Conte Camillo celebrates this historic origin by making the classic pleasure of the drink accessible in a high-quality, ready-to-drink form – pour & drink.

The Conte Camillo Negroni is best served neat over ice, with a slice of orange or a twist to highlight the citrusy flavours. It is also perfect as a base for Negroni variations such as a Negroni Sour or Negroni Blanco. It pairs particularly well with mature cheeses, grilled meats or antipasti, which bring out its bitter and fruity notes to perfection.
