The Glenmorangie Distillery, founded in 1843 in the Scottish Highlands near Tain, is famous for its exquisite single malt Scotch whiskies. This Glenmorangie Lasanta originates from the exceptionally tall stills, which produce a wonderfully delicate and fruity spirit. It is then matured for 15 years in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, before gaining its final, complex depth through a sherry cask finish.

Tasting Note

Colour: A deep rosewood hue that exudes classic elegance and sophisticated depth.

Nose: A rich interplay of spice and sweetness, infused with ripe raisins, honeycomb and chocolate-coated hazelnuts, rounded off by a delicate hint of cinnamon.

Palate: Full-bodied and aromatic, dominated by spicy notes such as cinnamon and cloves, harmoniously complemented by the depth of dark chocolate.

Finish: Long-lasting and intense, unfolding with a fruity sweetness of Seville orange marmalade and dates, leading into a rich, molasses-infused finish.

This whisky pairs superbly with rich chocolate desserts such as chocolate fondant or brownies, which beautifully complement the deep, dark chocolate notes in the whisky’s flavour. It also pairs well with mature cheeses such as Stilton or a strong Cheddar, which bring out the spicy and fruity flavours.
