The A.H. Riise Distillery, situated on St Thomas in the Caribbean, offers more than just excellent flavour in its spirits – it captures a rich history. Founded in the 1840s by apothecary Albert Heinrich Riise, whilst the island was still a Danish colony, every bottle combines the traditional art of distillation with its founder’s passion for discovery. Riise’s discoveries of new plants and herbs in the West Indies continue to shape the distinctive flavour of these premium rums to this day. With every drop, A.H. Riise celebrates a legacy steeped in adventure.

Carefully charred old Bourbon casks are used to create a blend known as ‘Non Plus Ultra’ – a Latin expression meaning ‘nothing more’. The careful selection of the oldest and finest casks for sweet and dessert wines gives the Ambre d’Or Excellence blend an outstanding flavour, characterised by ripe fruit and refined spices – a veritable explosion of flavour.

Ambre d’Or Excellence is a delight for the senses, with notes of pickled plums, refined with a hint of mirabelle plums and orange zest – the non plus ultra of taste experiences.
