The Kilchoman 13 Years Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Limited Edition expands the Kilchoman Distillery’s portfolio of matured bottlings and highlights the growing importance of age-statement whiskies within the distillery. This limited edition has been matured for 13 years in a carefully balanced combination of ex-bourbon barrels, octaves and selected Calvados casks. Classic bourbon casks form the bulk of the blend, shaping the typical Kilchoman Islay character, whilst the smaller cask sizes contribute additional intensity and the Calvados casks bring an exceptional fruity dimension. This Islay single malt Scotch whisky was bottled at 50% ABV, without chill filtration and without colouring.


With this bottling, Kilchoman impressively demonstrates how the maritime peaty smoke of the Isle of Islay can be combined with alternative cask maturations without overshadowing the distillery’s style. The combination of bourbon cask maturation and Calvados finishing provides depth, freshness and a distinct fruity character that blends harmoniously with the whisky’s robust core character. Despite limited stock levels, the distillery is deliberately focusing on matured editions to showcase the development of its spirit over longer periods.
