The Eichenwald Winery is situated in Horitschon, one of the most renowned wine-growing communities in the Austrian province of Burgenland, which is famous for its outstanding wines. Eichenwald THE OAK Cuvée combines the noble grape varieties Blaufränkisch, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon to create an exceptional red wine that delights with its complexity and power. The wine is produced with the utmost care and matures for a period of 30 months in new French barriques, which lends it deep, dark aromas and an elegant structure. Ageing in oak ensures that the aromas are brought out to their full potential and that the wine achieves a harmonious balance between fruit and spice.

Tasting Note

A deep, dark red colour in the glass. On the nose, aromas of berries, cardamom-like spice, a hint of black cherries and orange zest, as well as cocoa powder, unfold, lending the wine an unmistakable complexity. On the palate, the cuvée is delicate, with an aromatic finish that brings the flavours back to life time and again. Long-lasting on the finish with fruit and spice notes.

Serving temperature: 16–18 °C

Eichenwald THE OAK Cuvée is the ideal accompaniment to grilled meat, lamb chops or braised game, as its robust structure and complex flavours harmonise superbly with the intense flavours of these dishes. This wine is also an excellent choice with mature cheeses or hearty stews.
