Ron Abuelo Añejo 12 Años 40% vol. 0.7 l is a fine premium rum from Panama, produced by the long-established Varela Hermanos distillery. Since 1908, this family-run business has been dedicated to rum production and is now one of the most respected distilleries in Central America. With this 12-year-old Añejo, Ron Abuelo presents a bottling that uniquely combines craftsmanship, patience and tropical terroir.


Only the distillery’s own sugar cane juice and molasses are used in production; these are fermented using traditional methods and distilled in modern column stills. The rum is then aged for at least 12 years in carefully selected oak casks, most of which previously held bourbon. This lengthy cask ageing in Panama’s tropical climate ensures an intense variety of aromas and a perfect balance between sweetness, spice and woody notes.
