Hannes Reeh Zweigelt Neusiedlersee is an excellent example of the high craftsmanship of Austrian winemaker Hannes Reeh. This Zweigelt is made from 100% hand-picked Zweigelt grapes that thrive on the typical red gravel soil with sandy parts around Lake Neusiedl. The soil and the mild climate of the region play a decisive role in the development of the typical Zweigelt flavours, which are wonderfully accentuated in this wine. The grapes are harvested by hand and then gently fermented in stainless steel tanks, which preserves the fresh fruit flavours and elegance of the wine.

The wine is sealed with a practical screw cap, which preserves the freshness and purity of the wine for a long time. The Hannes Reeh Zweigelt Neusiedlersee DAC 2023 has good ageing potential and can continue to mature until 2029, developing and refining its flavours.

This red wine is not only an ideal accompaniment to numerous dishes, but also offers the opportunity to savour it for years to come and follow its development.

Tasting Note

Deep, intense ruby red in the glass. The nose is spoilt by aromas of red berries such as cherries and raspberries as well as a hint of spices and Werder. On the palate, the wine unfolds with a fine fruitiness and a well-structured tannin base. The Zweigelt is round and harmonious, with a refreshing acidity that lends it freshness and vibrancy. The finish is medium-long and clean, with a light spiciness and a hint of fruit that rounds off the flavour experience.

Hannes Reeh Zweigelt is an excellent accompaniment to savoury meat dishes such as beef steak, roast pork or grilled lamb. This red wine is also a perfect choice with savoury pasta dishes or a selection of sausages. Zweigelt also harmonises well with mild cheeses such as Gouda or a creamy Brie. Thanks to its fresh and fruity structure, the wine is also ideal as an aperitif or to accompany social gatherings.
