The Ron Dos Mares Vintage 2005 is an exceptional Caribbean premium rum that impresses with its clear origin, selective maturation and aromatic depth. Made from sugar cane molasses and distilled in continuous column stills, this vintage rum comes from the traditional Hacienda San Isidro in Panama. There it matured under tropical conditions in American oak barrels before being bottled as a strictly limited and numbered edition after careful selection by Rogelio Castillo, Head of Maturation and Quality Assurance at Valera Hermanos - age-certified, of course.

With an alcohol content of 45.3% vol., the Ron Dos Mares Vintage 2005 develops an expressive yet finely balanced spectrum of flavours. Due to the long ageing process, it develops a complex composition of fruity sweetness, spice and toasty wood tones, which are perfectly accentuated by the warm climate and the handcrafted barrel selection. A rum limited to a total of 3,992 bottles for discerning connoisseurs, which shows its strengths both on its own and as part of exclusive tastings.

Tasting Note

Colour: Mahogany with a deep lustre.

Nose: Deep, aromatic notes of sultanas, fine cocoa, dark sugar and subtly toasted wood.

Palate: Complex and elegant, with dried fruit, honeyed figs, orange peel, light coffee and warm spices.

Finish: Silky, balanced and long-lasting, with a fine sweetness, delicate wood presence and an elegant, warm aftertaste.

Dos Mares Vintage 2005 should be enjoyed neat at room temperature - ideally in a bulbous tasting glass to fully develop its aromatic depth. A few drops of water can help to open up the complex profile even further. It goes perfectly with dark chocolate, roasted nuts, mature hard cheese or as an accompaniment to a mild cigar.
