The Polz Gelber Muskateller Südsteiermark DAC 2024 is an aromatic, meticulously vinified white wine that impressively reflects the terroir of Southern Styria. It comes from the renowned Polz winery, which has been synonymous for generations with its distinctive style, uncompromising quality and subtle interpretation of Styrian grape varieties. The Gelber Muskateller is one of the estate’s flagship wines and, with the 2024 vintage, once again brings out the very best of this fragrant variety.

The vines grow on a fascinatingly diverse soil profile comprising shell limestone, clay, sand, calcareous marl and slate – a geological diversity that lends the wine complexity, minerality and depth. Maturation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks preserves the wine’s lively freshness and the characteristic interplay of aromas typical of the variety. With an alcohol content of 12 % vol., a drinking window extending to at least 2027 and the practical feature of a screw cap, this wine is ideal for connoisseurs as well as curious wine enthusiasts.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the wine displays a clear lemon-yellow colour with greenish highlights. The nose is typical of a Muscat – expressive, floral and herbaceous, with intense aromas of elderflower, white lilac and fresh Muscat grapes. On the palate, a multi-layered profile unfolds: lemon balm, thyme, apricot and fresh garden herbs blend with a crisp, invigorating acidity. The wine is grapey, juicy, lively and wonderfully dry – without a hint of kitsch. A Yellow Muscat with character, style and bite.
