Tasting Note

The Opus One 2021 presents itself in the glass in a deep dark ruby red colour with violet reflections. The nose reveals an intense aroma of ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, dark cherry and fine floral notes such as violet. There are also subtle nuances of cedar wood, cocoa and a hint of truffle. The palate is powerful yet supple, with silky tannins, a harmonious acidity structure and a long, complex finish with hints of dark chocolate, Graphit and black tea.

This top Californian wine is ideal with fine meat dishes such as fillet of beef with a red wine reduction, rack of lamb with a herb crust or game ragout with porcini mushrooms.
