The Pöckl Zweigelt Classique 2022 is a characterful, fruit-driven red wine from Burgenland that combines the well-known Zweigelt character with structure, depth and great drinking pleasure. With an alcohol content of 13 % vol. and its well-balanced ageing, this wine embodies the perfect balance between freshness and power. The vines for this wine grow on loamy gravel soils, which provide excellent water retention and a supply of minerals – an ideal foundation for deep, fruit-driven red wines with a distinct terroir profile.

The 2022 vintage was vinified in the classic Burgenland style and matured for ten months in used barriques to lend the wine additional depth and structure without overpowering the fruit. The result: a fuller-bodied Zweigelt that nevertheless retains the freshness and approachability typical of the grape variety. Tasting Note

In the glass, the Pöckl Zweigelt Classique 2022 displays an inviting, deep ruby-garnet colour with violet hues. On the nose, it reveals black cherries, juicy plums and a hint of herbal spice. On the palate, it is fresh and well-structured, juicy and round, with lively fruit, velvety tannins and a harmonious, spicy finish.
