The Pöckl Zweigelt Classique 2022 is a characterful, fruity red wine from Burgenland that combines the well-known Zweigelt typicity with structure, depth and a lot of drinking pleasure. With an alcohol content of 13% vol. and its balanced maturation, this wine epitomises the perfect balance between freshness and strength. The vines for this wine grow on loamy gravel soils, which ensure excellent water retention and mineral supply - an ideal foundation for deep, fruit-driven red wines with an origin profile.

The 2022 vintage was vinified in the classic Burgenland style and matured for ten months in used barriques to give the wine additional depth and structure without overpowering the fruit. The result: a stronger Zweigelt that nevertheless retains the freshness and accessibility typical of the grape variety. If you want to enjoy it intensely and full of fruit, you can drink it immediately, but also store it for the next five years - it remains structured, balanced and elegant.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Pöckl Zweigelt Classique 2022 is an inviting, dark ruby-garnet colour with violet reflections. The nose reveals black cherries, juicy plums and a hint of herbal spice. Freshly structured on the palate, juicy and round with lively fruit, velvety tannins and a harmonious, spicy finish. A Zweigelt that impresses with its aromatic depth, precise balance and drinking pleasure.
