The Scheiblhofer Praittenbrunn 2021 is a powerful, internationally inspired red wine of great depth and finesse. It combines the best of two grape varieties - Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot - in a masterful cuvée that raises the potential of Burgenland to world-class level. Grown in the best vineyards around Andau and vinified with the utmost care, this wine is an expression of modern Austrian red wine art.

It is matured in two phases of 16 months each in new French barriques, which gives the wine not only structure and depth but also a multi-layered flavour and ageability. With an alcohol content of 15 % vol., enormous concentration and Scheiblhofer's typical signature, Praittenbrunn is a monument of a red wine - powerful, structured and elegant at the same time.

The dense texture, the fine acidity structure and the distinctive but ripe tannins give this wine enormous ageing potential until at least 2039, whereby intensive moments of pleasure can already be enjoyed now by decanting.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the wine is a deep, dark, opaque ruby-garnet colour. The nose is characterised by intense cassis notes, accompanied by fine nougat, dark chocolate, delicate roasted aromas and a hint of precious wood. On the palate, the Praittenbrunn 2021 is powerful and dense, with a distinctive tannin structure, harmonious acidity and a long, multi-layered finish that impresses with its international style and leaves room for further development.
