The Weinhof Ulrich St. Anna Sauvignon Blanc Vulkanland Steiermark DAC 2023 12.5% ABV 1.5 l is an outstanding white wine that perfectly showcases the typical characteristics of the Styrian terroirs. This mature Sauvignon Blanc comes from the renowned Vulkanland Steiermark region, specifically from the Hochstraden vineyard, situated at 540 metres above sea level. The high altitude and the climate, which is particularly influenced by the terroir, provide optimal conditions for the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety and encourage the development of fresh, fruity aromas, which come through beautifully in this wine.

The grapes for the Weinhof Ulrich St. Anna Sauvignon Blanc Vulkanland Steiermark DAC 2023 are harvested by hand with the utmost care and matured following a gentle fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine is a typical quality wine and is characterised by its freshness, spice and complexity. With an alcohol content of 12.5% vol. and a generous volume of 1.5 l, this Sauvignon Blanc is not only ideal for immediate enjoyment but also for ageing – its ageing potential extends to 2034, allowing it to develop further over the years.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the St. Anna Sauvignon Blanc presents a clear, pale yellow colour with green highlights. On the nose, typical aromas of boxwood and gooseberries unfold, accompanied by a subtle herbal note. On the palate, the wine is spicy and full-bodied, with a wonderful balance between fruit and minerality. The freshness typical of Sauvignon Blanc remains at the forefront, whilst the finish is long and pleasant, with a subtle spiciness that rounds off the tasting experience.

The Weinhof Ulrich St. Anna Sauvignon Blanc Vulkanland Steiermark DAC 2023 is a superb wine to enjoy and pairs particularly well with dishes featuring spicy, creamy sauces. It pairs superbly with poultry in mustard or herb sauces, fish dishes in creamy sauces, or even a risotto with goat’s cheese.
