The Cuvée Impresario 2022 from the renowned Weingut Kerschbaum is an impressive red wine from Mittelburgenland that is characterised by powerful elegance and precise craftsmanship. This vintage combines 60% Blaufränkisch, 20% Zweigelt, 15% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon to create a complex, multi-layered composition of international calibre.

The carefully harvested grapes were processed with particular care and fermented on the skins for 24 days to extract the deep colour pigments, aromas and structure of the tannins in the best possible way. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matured exclusively in new wooden barrels for 18 months, giving it density, flavour and impressive development potential. The Impresario 2022 epitomises the combination of Burgenland tradition and modern style like almost no other wine from the estate.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the wine is a dark ruby-garnet colour with an opaque core, violet reflections and a delicate brightening of the rim. The nose is intense and multi-layered, characterised by nuances of fine wood, blackcurrant, dark chocolate, nougat and candied orange zest. On the palate, the wine is powerful, concentrated and elegant, with subtle extract sweetness, ripe tannins, dark berry fruit, cherries and salty minerality. The structure is firm yet finely woven, with a long finish and excellent ageing potential.

Acidity: 5.6 g/litre

This cuvée is an excellent accompaniment to braised beef, game dishes, lamb with rosemary, strong sauces or mature hard cheese. It also shows its full potential with festive menus or as an accompaniment to truffle dishes. Due to the depth and youth of the wine, it is recommended to decant it for at least 4 hours. Served at 16-18 °C, the full aromatic spectrum of this fine cuvée unfolds.
