The Ripa Della Volta Valpolicella Superiore DOC 2022 is an elegant red wine from Veneto, characterised by authenticity, freshness and a classic style. The cuvée is based on the traditional Valpolicella grape varieties Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella, which ripen under optimal conditions in the gentle hills of the Valpolicella region. As a ‘Superiore’, this wine bears the hallmark of a longer ageing period and a higher extract content compared to classic Valpolicella, which is clearly reflected in its structure and character.

The grapes are carefully selected and, following temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, undergo a short period of ageing in wooden barrels, which lends the wine depth, elegance and subtle spice without compromising its drinkability. With a moderate alcohol content of 12.5 % vol., the 2022 vintage offers a particularly accessible and balanced interpretation of the Valpolicella style – fresh, fruit-driven and with a clear sense of terroir.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the wine displays a brilliant ruby red colour with delicate violet highlights. The nose is open and clear, with aromas of sour cherry, redcurrant and a hint of dried herbs. On the palate, it is soft and supple, with juicy fruit, subtle spice and well-integrated acidity. The tannins are ripe and understated, whilst the finish is elegant, balanced and slightly mineral – typical of the classic red soils of Valpolicella.

A versatile companion to pasta with tomato sauces, grilled poultry, antipasti, mild cheeses or Mediterranean-style seasoned vegetables. Thanks to its approachability, the Valpolicella Superiore is also ideal as an everyday wine or a fine accompaniment to meals on relaxed evenings. Served at 16–18 °C, it reveals its full potential.
