The Regele Schilcher Frizzante Brut is a sparkling, typically Styrian wine with a distinct provenance and character. Produced from the indigenous Blauer Wildbacher grape variety, this Frizzante comes from Western Styria, one of the regions with the longest tradition of producing Schilcher wines. The Regele Winery, based in Leibnitz in Southern Styria, is launching this variant – an invigorating frizzante that combines both the variety’s characteristic richness and modern elegance.

For this frizzante, the grapes are harvested particularly early to preserve freshness and acidity. After pressing, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless-steel tanks. The base wine is then carbonated using the Charmat method in pressure tanks, which gives it its characteristic yet gentle effervescence. With a moderate alcohol content of 11 % vol., the Schilcher Frizzante is the perfect, uncomplicated yet characterful companion for warm days and festive occasions.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Frizzante displays a pale salmon-pink colour with delicate violet highlights. On the nose, it reveals notes of redcurrants, rosehip and delicate herbal hints. On the palate, it is dry, lively and refreshingly tart, with lively acidity, fine effervescence and a fruity, spicy finish typical of the Blauer Wildbacher variety.

An ideal aperitif for spring and summer evenings, it pairs well with light starters, antipasti, salads with strawberries or goat’s cheese, but is also excellent with grilled fish, Asian cuisine or spicy pasta dishes. Even on its own, well chilled, it offers a refreshing taste experience with a regional character.
