The Bodega Norton Privada Family Blend 2023 is a high-quality cuvée from the heart of Mendoza, one of Argentina's most important wine regions. The grapes for this fine red wine come from the bodega's oldest vineyards, which are up to 90 years old and lie at around 1,100 metres above sea level in the foothills of the Andes. This altitude ensures cool nights and strong day-night contrasts, giving the grapes an ideal balance of ripe fruit and fresh acidity.

The cuvée is traditionally made up of Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon - three grape varieties that find ideal conditions in Mendoza. The grapes are carefully selected, gently processed and then matured for 16 months in French oak barrels, which gives the wine structure, complexity and ageing potential. The 2023 vintage presents itself with particularly dense fruit, elegant flavour and velvety tannins - a prime example of modern, high-quality Argentinian red wine.

The Privada Family Blend was originally produced as an exclusive house wine for the winery's family and is now one of the most prestigious bottlings in the Bodega Norton portfolio - powerful, deep and with great ageing potential.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the wine shines in a deep dark ruby red colour with violet reflections. Intense aromas of ripe blackberries, black cherries, violets, tobacco and dark chocolate unfold on the nose, accompanied by fine toasted notes and cedar wood. Full-bodied, soft and velvety on the palate, with a fine tannin structure, excellent depth of fruit and a long, complex finish with spicy and mineral nuances.

Ideal with Argentinian grilled beef (asado), rack of lamb, game dishes with dark sauce, mature hard cheese or risotto with porcini mushrooms. Also a pleasure on its own for discerning red wine lovers or as an elegant gift. Excellent ageing potential - drinking window until at least 2033.
