The GlenAllachie 15 Years Old Speyside Single Malt forms the centrepiece of the distillery’s modern Core Range and impressively demonstrates how the style has evolved under Billy Walker, the former Master Distiller at a number of renowned distilleries. Matured in a carefully selected combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry puncheons and hogsheads, the result is a particularly expressive single malt that combines dark fruit notes with a spicy depth. The distillery deliberately opts for a natural presentation: the bottling is uncoloured and non-chill-filtered, allowing it to develop an authentic, multi-layered aroma that clearly reveals the influence of the sherry casks used. The newly established Core Range comprises four characterful bottlings which, together, redefine the distillery’s standards of quality in Speyside.


The aromatic profile of this 15-year-old whisky combines the typical GlenAllachie characteristics – foremost among them the distinctive heather honey – with the deep, sweet and spicy notes derived from intensive sherry cask maturation. The interplay of dark cherries, figs, toffee and hints of golden syrup creates a rich profile, whilst Elements such as orange peel, cocoa and ginger lend a lively structure. The cask blend lends the whisky a warm, rich character that offers a multi-layered drinking experience for both connoisseurs and lovers of fruit-forward Speyside whiskies. The elegant gift box rounds off the overall presentation beautifully.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark gold with coppery glints.

Nose: Dark cherries, golden syrup and sweet spices, followed by toffee, glazed figs and hazelnut.

Palate: Heather honey, a hallmark of the distillery, accompanied by orange peel, cocoa, ginger and caramelised brown sugar.

Finish: Long-lasting, warm and spicy with distinctly pronounced sherry cask notes.

This Speyside single malt pairs superbly with rich desserts such as chocolate tart, toffee pudding or fig pastries, as its intense sherry notes complement these flavours perfectly. It creates a complex, exciting pairing with strong cheeses such as mature Cheddar or creamy blue cheese. Roasted nuts, candied citrus fruits or spiced cake also complement its sweet and spicy characteristics. Served neat or with a few drops of water, it reveals its impressive depth, further opening up its fruity notes and proving to be a long-lasting, stylish digestif.
