Unlike bourbon, this American whisky is not matured in new oak casks, but in previously charred oak casks that previously contained bourbon. This gives it a milder, smoother profile with pronounced notes of vanilla, caramel and fruit, without the strong tannic character of fresh casks. The term ‘Unblended’ emphasises that no neutral spirits are added – a pure, authentic whisky experience.

Colour: Golden amber.

Nose: Smooth and aromatic with vanilla, caramel, honey and subtle fruity notes.

Palate: Creamy and rounded with caramel, maple syrup, butterscotch, ripe fruit and subtle toasty notes.

Finish: Medium-length, smooth and sweet-spicy.

Michter’s US*1 Small Batch Unblended American Whiskey reveals its full potential when enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water. It pairs superbly with grilled meats such as BBQ ribs or a juicy beef steak, but also harmonises beautifully with smoked cheese, roasted nuts or a selection of dark chocolate. For dessert, it is recommended with pecan pie, apple crumble or vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce.
