The SOMMOS Varietales Somontano D.O.P. 2022 is a Spanish red wine full of character from the up-and-coming Somontano region in Aragón. This cuvée is made from the Syrah, Garnacha and Tempranillo grape varieties, which find ideal conditions in the high altitudes at the foot of the Pyrenees. The chalky and gravelly soils and the continental climate with hot days and cool nights give the grapes a distinctive flavour, strength and elegant freshness.


The grapes are carefully harvested by hand and fermented at a controlled temperature. The wine then matures for several months in oak barrels, giving it additional depth, flavour and structure. With an alcohol content of 14% vol., SOMMOS Varietales 2022 combines the flavour of Syrah, the juicy fruit of Garnacha and the classic elegance of Tempranillo. Tasting Note

In the glass, the SOMMOS Varietales 2022 has an intense cherry red colour with violet reflections. The nose reveals aromas of ripe blackberries, cherries and plums, accompanied by notes of Mediterranean herbs, vanilla and fine toast. On the palate, it is full-bodied and juicy, with ripe tannins, spicy depth and a long, harmonious finish in which fruit and wood flow elegantly into one another.

This red wine made from Syrah, Garnacha and Tempranillo is an excellent accompaniment to hearty meat dishes such as lamb chops, roast beef, game or Mediterranean stews. It is also an ideal accompaniment to flavoursome hard cheese or grilled dishes. Served at 16-18 °C, it unfolds its full spectrum of flavours.
