Planteray Rum Extra Old 20th Anniversary is a luxurious and exceptionally complex Barbados rum, created as a tribute to Alexandre Gabriel’s 20 years as Master Blender. With an alcohol content of 40% ABV and presented in an exclusive 3-litre bottle, this rum is a meisterwerk of Caribbean craftsmanship that combines Barbadian depth with French savoir-faire.


Planteray XO 20th Anniversary is a blend of particularly aged Barbados rums, distilled from molasses at the West Indies Rum Distillery. Following a fermentation period of 3 to 5 days, distillation takes place in both twin-column stills and traditional pot stills (The Old Gregg’s). The rum is then initially matured under tropical conditions in new white oak and ex-bourbon casks, before receiving its characteristic finish in selected Cognac Ferrand casks in France. The varying toasting levels of the casks ensure impressive depth and aromatic diversity.

Originally created to celebrate Alexandre Gabriel’s 20th anniversary, the XO 20th Anniversary has become one of the most renowned rums in the world and has been awarded over 55 gold medals – making it the world’s most award-winning XO rum. Tasting Note

Colour: Deep amber with golden highlights.

Nose: Intense, with notes of coconut, vanilla, ripe banana, cocoa and toasted almonds.

Palate: Round and smooth, with notes of tropical fruit, chocolate, oak and sweet caramel.

Finish: Lang, creamy and elegant with a delicate balance of spice and sweetness.

The Planteray Extra Old 20th Anniversary reveals its full depth best when enjoyed neat in a nosing glass, where the variety of aromas is shown to its best advantage.
