The Krispel Sauvignon Blanc Straden Vulkanland Steiermark DAC 2024 13% ABV 0.75 l is a characterful white wine from the heart of Styria’s Vulkanland, a region renowned for its mineral-rich soils of volcanic origin and its cool climate. Weingut Krispel has made a name for itself with precise, terroir-driven wines, and this Sauvignon Blanc is a prime example of Styrian elegance and authenticity.


The grapes come from vineyards around Straden, where mineral-rich volcanic and loamy soils lend the wines their distinctive freshness and structure. The wine is aged for 4–6 months in stainless steel tanks, which perfectly preserves the lively fruit and clear varietal character. With an alcohol content of 13% vol., a ageing potential until 2028 and its typical Styrian style, this Sauvignon Blanc displays both freshness and precision, as well as a compact body with remarkable length.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Krispel Sauvignon Blanc Straden 2024 presents a pale straw-yellow colour with green highlights. On the nose, intense aromas of stinging nettle and gooseberry unfold, blending with subtle notes of redcurrant. These impressions are echoed on the palate and complemented by lime. The fresh, lively acidity gives the wine a clear structure, whilst the compact body and long finish lend it elegance and depth.

The Sauvignon Blanc Straden DAC is a versatile accompaniment to fine Austrian and Mediterranean cuisine. Served at 8–10 °C, it reveals its full aromatic complexity and offers moments of pure enjoyment with a Styrian character.
