The Isle of Raasay The Draam Hebridean Single Malt Whisky comes from the young and award-winning Isle of Raasay Distillery on the Hebridean island of the same name, off the coast of the Isle of Skye. This legendary single malt was first launched in 2021 and is based on Master Distiller Alasdair Day’s unique six-cask blend. With its honey-gold colour and subtle hints of red wine, it offers a remarkable depth of flavour that belies its age.


The Draam draws inspiration from an older style of Hebridean single malt whisky, yet possesses a lighter, fragrant smokiness that is elegantly balanced by intense dark fruit flavours. It is based on a sophisticated blend in which two different spirits – peated and unpeated – are matured separately in American rye whisky casks, fresh Chinkapin oak casks and first-fill Bordeaux red wine casks. It is bottled at 46.4% ABV, in its natural colour and without chill filtration.

Tasting Note

Colour: Honey-gold with subtle red wine hues.

Nose: Light smoky notes, fresh fruit, dark berries and a hint of vanilla.

Palate: Harmonious and rounded with notes of toffee, red wine fruits, sweet malt and subtle peatiness.

Finish: Long-lasting, delicately smoky, fruity and well-balanced.

The Isle of Raasay The Draam Hebridean Single Malt reveals its full range of aromas when enjoyed neat at room temperature. It pairs well with mild soft cheeses such as Brie or Camembert, grilled salmon or scallops, and desserts such as apple tart or crème brûlée. It is also well suited as a base for whisky cocktails – for example, in an Old Fashioned, where its light smokiness adds depth, or in a Whisky Sour, which brings out its fruity notes. As part of a whisky tasting, it authentically represents the modern Hebrides style.
