The Lochlea Orchard & Oak Single Estate Single Malt Scotch Whisky comes from the independent Lochlea Distillery in the Scottish Lowlands, which is renowned for its authentic approach and the exclusive use of barley grown on the estate itself. As a single estate whisky, this bottling embodies the highest standards of transparency and traceability, as every step – from the barley harvest to bottling – takes place on the estate itself. Bottled at 46% ABV, it impresses with its balance and subtle complexity.


It was matured in an exceptional combination of bourbon casks, new oak casks and Calvados casks, which lend it an exciting complexity. Whilst the bourbon casks contribute notes of vanilla and caramel, the new oak casks provide spicy depth and structure, and the Calvados casks from Normandy add fruity apple and pear aromas. Orchard & Oak is bottled unfiltered and in its natural colour without any colourings, emphasising its original purity and quality.

Tasting Note

Colour: Brilliant gold with subtle amber highlights.

Nose: Sweet apple notes, fresh grass, earthy nuances and delicate floral accents.

Palate: Fresh and lively, with green apples, creamy caramel, grassy flavours and spicy oak. Notes of apple pie, rich and buttery, with a delicate freshness of cream and fruit.

Finish: Sweet oak, caramel and subtle notes of grain, fading softly and harmoniously.

Lochlea Orchard & Oak Single Malt is a versatile delight when enjoyed neat at room temperature. It pairs superbly with mild cheeses such as Camembert, complements roast poultry or pork fillet, and harmonises perfectly with apple-based desserts such as tarte Tatin or apple strudel. Thanks to its Calvados maturation, it is also ideal as a base for creative whisky cocktails, such as a highball with apple juice and soda, or a fruity whisky sour, which perfectly highlight its fresh, fruity character.
